TL;DR
Systems Engineer III (Aerospace): Developing and managing requirements for complex spacecraft and payload products across design, verification and validation, assembly, integration and test, and launch with an accent on end-to-end systems engineering, payload-to-bus interfaces, and high-reliability aerospace architectures. Focus on deriving quantifiable requirements, authoring verification procedures, leading subsystem development, and driving SRR, PDR, and CDR design reviews.

Location: Louisville, Colorado; must be local to the work location. Flexible for occasional telework.

Salary: $88,289.08–$153,517.58 annually.

What you will do

  • Perform systems engineering throughout the product lifecycle, from customer requirements derivation through design, verification and validation, assembly, integration and test, and launch.
  • Derive, manage, and trace requirements for complex space systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Design and evaluate end-to-end systems and translate product strategies into system and derived-level design requirements.
  • Author verification and validation methods, procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Lead a dedicated mechanical, electrical, or software subsystem and manage payload-to-bus interface control documentation.
  • Prepare and drive customer-facing SRR, PDR, and CDR design reviews and participate in risk, configuration control, and testing activities.

Requirements

  • BS with 5–7 years, MS with 3–5 years, or PhD with 0–2 years of professional systems engineering experience.
  • Experience in high-reliability space and aerospace applications and complex product architectures.
  • Experience supporting products through all development phases, from requirements derivation and development through sustainment.
  • Experience with aerospace requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar.
  • Ability to work locally in Louisville, Colorado; no security clearance is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing architectures for national defense, NASA civil space, and commercial aerospace customers.
