TL;DR
Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Defining, developing, integrating, verifying, and supporting complex spacecraft systems throughout the product lifecycle with an accent on requirements traceability, fault management architecture, and multidisciplinary system integration. Focus on developing verification strategies, resolving technical discrepancies, managing interfaces and configuration baselines, and supporting mission readiness from concept development through on-orbit operations.

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States. Workplace: On-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

  • Lead systems engineering activities from concept development through design, integration, verification, launch, and operational support.
  • Analyze and decompose customer, mission, and system-level requirements while maintaining end-to-end traceability.
  • Define hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, and data interfaces across system elements.
  • Develop spacecraft system architectures, fault management solutions, technical trade studies, and engineering analyses.
  • Develop verification and validation strategies, configurations, documentation, traceability matrices, and evidence packages.
  • Support integration and test, technical reviews, mission readiness, risk management, program planning, and corrective actions while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, systems, electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering, physics, or a related discipline with 5–8 years of relevant experience; equivalent master’s or PhD pathways are accepted with 3–6 or 0–3 years of experience respectively.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, the systems development lifecycle, requirements management, systems architecture, interface management, integration, and configuration management.
  • Experience developing, managing, and verifying requirements for space vehicles, including spacecraft fault management architecture and implementation.
  • Understanding of verification, validation, systems integration, mission planning, launch support, and on-orbit operations.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama or IBM DOORS; MBSE tools such as CATIA Magic, Cameo, or MagicDraw; and systems modeling and simulation tools.
  • Must meet U.S. space technology export-control eligibility requirements.

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated engineering programs.
