TL;DR
Systems Engineer II (Aerospace): Developing and integrating aerospace and defense systems through requirements engineering, systems modeling, verification and validation, and technical risk management with an accent on MBSE, architecture development, and lifecycle management. Focus on leading system analysis and integration tasks, building requirements baselines, and supporting complex ISR, aviation, and security programs.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid environment with occasional travel

Estimated starting salary: $94,345.12–$129,724.54 per year

What you will do

  • Perform requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and model-based systems engineering.
  • Conduct system and decision analysis, technical planning, and technical risk management.
  • Lead smaller project tasks and support larger project components.
  • Contribute to architecture and design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop engineering solutions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools and knowledge of engineering principles, requirements management, systems design, integration, risk management, and V&V.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for employment; non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible for the required clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, INCOSE/ASEP standards, Agile methodologies, missile development, or environmental requirements.
  • Background in aerospace and defense, including RF or IR sensors, hardware-in-the-loop, embedded systems integration, range safety, or flight termination systems.
  • Experience with missile command and launch interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, UAI, or CFWICD.
