Project Manager

Location: Oxford Road, Manchester, United Kingdom. Flexible hybrid working.

hirify.global, with a Minor Works Team responsible for capital projects across the University estate.

What you will do

• Lead assigned capital projects from feasibility and planning through completion and handover.
• Manage multiple projects and workstreams, including priorities, dependencies, risks, programmes, and budgets.
• Maintain project governance and controls, including forecasts, risk registers, change control, and performance reporting.
• Coordinate consultants and contractors, support procurement and appointments, and manage external team performance.
• Advise sponsors and stakeholders on delivery options, risks, programmes, and budgets, escalating key issues through established governance arrangements.
• Ensure projects meet legislation, CDM, Building Regulations, University requirements, and sustainability objectives.

Requirements

• Degree or relevant professional qualification in construction, engineering, surveying, architecture, or project management.
• Experience managing capital, infrastructure, refurbishment, or construction projects in a complex organisational environment.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or workstreams.
• Strong understanding of procurement, contracts, budgets, forecasting, risk, governance, and reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
