TL;DR
Project Management Degree Apprenticeship (Aerospace): Supporting satellite and maritime terminal projects through project planning, scheduling, supplier management, budgeting, risk control, and contract activities with an accent on cross-functional delivery and aerospace programme operations. Focus on managing project plans, reporting performance, coordinating internal placements, and developing specialist competencies through on-site work and university study.

Location: Airbus Defence & Space Portsmouth, United Kingdom; 80% on-site during Years 1–3 with day-release study at the University of Portsmouth. The four-year apprenticeship starts on 31 August 2027.

Salary: £23,000 per year.

hirify.global designs, builds and tests advanced satellites and supports maritime satellite terminals, including payloads for communications, climate monitoring and secure connectivity.

What you will do

  • Develop project management skills through internal placements across project management, procurement, production and facilities functions.
  • Update project plans and schedules to support delivery on time, within cost and to the required quality.
  • Manage risks, issues, budgets, supplier relationships and project performance reporting.
  • Support bids, tenders and contract management activities.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams, technical experts, mentors and early-career colleagues.
  • Complete day-release university study, structured on-the-job training and the end-point assessment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 104 UCAS points from two or three A levels at BCC or above, including relevant subjects such as Maths, Further Maths, Statistics, Physics or Electronics; or a BTEC Extended Diploma at DMM or above; or a T Level at Merit or above.
  • GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths and English Language, or equivalent Functional Skills qualifications.
  • Strong interest in space and engineering.
  • Submit a CV showing grades and whether they are predicted or achieved, plus a cover letter explaining motivation and suitability.
  • Current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom for the full duration of the programme is required.
  • Successful candidates must pass BPSS screening and may need UK SC-level security clearance or Export Control approval. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience from projects, hobbies, academic work or extracurricular activities.
  • Interest in Airbus, aerospace technology and a career in project management.
