Director - Operations Control (hybrid)

Location: Hybrid; attendance at the Newark, NJ office twice a week

Salary: $165,000–$180,000 USD annually, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Direct daily reconciliation and operations control activities across clients, accounts, products, and processes.
• Set ownership standards and escalation thresholds for account breaks, exception queues, aged items, and high-risk issues.
• Oversee control reporting, operational KPIs, service performance, risk trends, and remediation progress.
• Lead escalation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and validation of preventive and detective controls.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation, procedures, control inventories, issue logs, and evidence for audits and regulatory inquiries.
• Lead teams, manage capacity and continuity planning, and support onboarding, transitions, migrations, automation, and process changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant experience leading reconciliation, operations control, or related financial-services operations, including complex exceptions and high-volume workflows.
• Strong knowledge of account balancing, break investigation, operational risk, internal controls, audit readiness, and issue remediation.
• Experience managing service-level agreements, quality standards, KPIs, and client commitments.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with reconciliation, workflow, or reporting tools.
• Ability to work from the Newark, NJ office two days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or advanced certifications such as Series 99 or Series 7.
• Experience with IntelliMatch or hirify.global platforms including BPS, IMPACT, Proactive, or PostEdge.
• Background in brokerage, banking, payments, outsourced operations, or multi-client shared services.
• Familiarity with SEC and FINRA requirements, global operations, process transitions, automation, or transformation initiatives.
