Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: On-site five days a week from the Redwood City, California office; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Salary: $150,000–$1,000,000 annual salary, plus stock and/or stock option awards and benefits.

hirify.global is building a Software Factory that orchestrates the end-to-end software development lifecycle and delivers fully managed, hosted software tailored to customer needs.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction and architecture of the Software Factory agent, including multi-agent orchestration, agent harnesses, context design, retrieval, memory, tools, and execution environments.
• Partner with product management to prioritize agent capabilities, define technical plans, and drive engineering delivery.
• Write and ship production code, lead code reviews, and build agents that reason about code, work across repositories, and interact with browsers and computer environments.
• Improve production observability, recovery, task completion, output quality, reliability, latency, and cost using traces, experiments, and customer feedback.
• Mentor engineers, support recruiting, clarify ownership, resolve technical disagreements, and establish effective planning and review practices.
• Partner with security and infrastructure engineers on permissions, sandboxing, data boundaries, and safe production deployment.

Requirements

• Record of shipping production agents with sustained, high-volume usage and measurable customer impact.
• Deep practical expertise in LLM-based agent systems, including orchestration, context engineering, tool integration, memory, model selection, and evaluation.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building, debugging, and operating complex production systems.
• Direct experience building coding agents or browser/computer-use agents that complete complex tasks across tools and environments.
• Experience deploying agents in enterprise environments with demanding security, isolation, or customer-specific deployment requirements.
• Must provide documentation establishing employment eligibility in the United States and satisfactory proof of identity under U.S. law.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with post-training and reinforcement learning, including judgment about when these methods can improve agent behavior.
