Lead Product Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States; applicants may be required to appear onsite at a hirify.global office during the recruitment process.

Salary: $104,800–$183,700 USD annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Co-design AI solutions with customers and build human-centric features that address real accounting and tax professionals’ needs.
• Develop intelligent document processing, automated workflows, and AI-powered analytics across the Tax and Accounting product portfolio.
• Design and implement secure, scalable AI features using Python and modern frameworks.
• Lead complex technical projects from inception through delivery and enable other product teams to adopt reusable AI solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, researchers, and engineers in weekly Agile and XP sprints.
• Apply TDD, BDD, pair programming, and rapid feedback practices to maintain product quality and team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software applications and 3+ years leading complex technical projects.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with LLMs or AI systems; NLP experience is preferred.
• Full-stack development capabilities with experience in Python; JavaScript or TypeScript experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs, vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, and AI optimization.
• Experience with Agile/XP practices, including TDD, BDD, pair programming, and weekly sprints.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption of new technologies.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure AI-102 certification and experience with Azure AI services.
• Experience with advanced AI frameworks, multimodal AI, MLOps, or AI governance.
• Experience with document processing, financial data analysis, B2B professional software, or regulated environments.
• Background in startups, innovation teams, or product-focused companies.
