Lead AI Engineer (NBA)

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices may be required for training or meetings.

Salary: $129,300–$177,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own agentic AI workflows that provide analysis, recommendations, and automation across the NBA platform.
• Write and ship production Python code, including multi-step agentic pipelines connected to data, decisioning, and activation systems.
• Integrate large language models such as Claude and GPT using prompt engineering, tool use, structured outputs, and context management.
• Deliver AI-powered analysis and recommendation experiences for the Command and Control UI and other operator-facing interfaces.
• Build evaluation frameworks and ensure AI workflows are reliable, auditable, and safe for regulated healthcare use.
• Lead a small team and manage AI engineering contractors while promoting AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software or ML engineering experience, including 1–2 years focused on LLM integration, agentic AI, or AI product engineering.
• Production experience with agentic systems, multi-step pipelines, tool orchestration, structured output handling, and multi-turn conversations.
• Production experience with RAG patterns and vector search.
• Strong Python engineering skills and experience integrating Anthropic, OpenAI, or equivalent LLM APIs into applications.
• Experience leading a small engineering team or pod and managing contractor resources.
• Strong communication skills and practical judgment about applying AI in regulated, member-facing contexts.

Nice to have

• Experience orchestrating multi-agent systems and long-running workflows.
• Experience integrating agentic AI with enterprise software, Salesforce, Adobe Experience Platform, claims platforms, or similar systems.
• Experience building AI-powered analytics and insight surfaces for business intelligence or operational interfaces.
• Healthcare, insurance, or other regulated-industry experience.
• Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, output-quality measurement, drift detection, Anthropic Claude API, or the Claude Agent SDK.
