Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Remote-first with flexible home working, hybrid working, and occasional travel to the office. Applicants must be based in Northern Ireland with full working rights, or be able to travel to the office on an ad hoc basis.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and own features across React web applications and React Native mobile apps.
• Define and deliver solutions for complex features in collaboration with product and design.
• Ship and maintain iOS and Android applications, including app store and over-the-air releases.
• Develop efficient, reusable frontend components and shared code for web and mobile.
• Use AI development tools such as Claude Code to deliver products efficiently.
• Maintain clean, scalable, secure, well-tested code and monitor system health in production and development.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of commercial experience in a similar role.
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS skills.
• Experience building responsive, mobile-first web interfaces and working with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with unit and integration testing using Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
• Daily use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong communication skills, initiative, and ability to collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience releasing React Native apps through App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
• Experience with Xcode, Gradle, CocoaPods, Next.js, Redux Toolkit, styled-components, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with web and mobile performance optimization.
