Automation Technician (AGV)

Location: Hamburg, Germany; on-site shift work

What you will do

• Provide technical support for AGV systems, including shift-based troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Monitor the AGV fleet, including transport tasks, system status, faults, and battery levels.
• Prioritize and coordinate transport orders with production schedules, cycle times, SAP, MES, forklifts, and empties handling.
• Analyze process disruptions and false triggers, support root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Maintain master data, routes, control logic, and dispatching settings while supporting software updates and system changes.
• Support the implementation of new AGVs and provide technical guidance and training to production and logistics employees.

Requirements

• Completed technical training, ideally with further qualification in automation technology or electrical engineering.
• Basic understanding of IT/OT communication, including WLAN, MQTT/OPC UA, interfaces, and networking.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems, strong IT affinity, and process-oriented thinking.
• Initial experience with programmable logic controllers is beneficial.
• Experience in production, production logistics, material flow control, or control room operations.
• Strong communication skills, technical guidance experience, and willingness to work in shifts.
