Senior HRIS Specialist (Workday)

Location: Hybrid work with 60% onsite and 40% remote attendance in Herndon, Virginia; Grand Prairie, Texas; Mobile, Alabama; Wichita, Kansas; or Miami, Florida. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $110,000–$120,000 annually, with geographic differentials possible.

What you will do

• Serve as senior functional Product Owner and tier-two subject matter expert for Workday HCM modules, including Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence Management, Time Tracking, and Payroll.
• Manage the functional roadmap and backlog, translating HR strategy and business requirements into user stories, configuration specifications, and end-to-end workflows.
• Lead Workday release governance, regression testing, feature validation, adoption activities, and complex defect triage.
• Manage technical HRIS projects from initiation through stabilization, including deployments, tenant consolidations, acquisitions, operating model transitions, and enhancements.
• Govern project documentation, steering committees, stakeholder coordination, delivery milestones, and enterprise architecture compliance.
• Design testing strategies and enablement sessions for HR teams, managers, and employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including 8+ years with HRIS implementations covering HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Time Management, and Payroll.
• Professional experience with the Workday HCM Suite.
• Experience leading complex technical HRIS projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Workday, HRIS, PMP, PMI, PMI-ACP, CSPO, SHRM, PHR, SPHR, or relevant Workday certifications are preferred.
• Current US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this US position.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or advanced specialization in Project Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or System Architecture.
• Experience with Workday product management, mergers, or complex multi-entity transitions in aerospace, manufacturing, or defence environments.
