Start Up Engineer

Location: Nanjing, Jiangsu, China; frequent international travel and full-time presence at project facilities required

What you will do

• Plan and align commissioning and startup strategies, resources, technical packages, tools, and schedules.
• Lead multidisciplinary field teams through pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Bring newly constructed air separation, hydrogen, purifier, and related process plants into safe and reliable commercial production.
• Manage commissioning safety, cost, schedule, reliability, and compliance with company procedures and applicable codes.
• Maintain commissioning records, reports, drawings, and handover documentation for operations or customers.
• Coordinate stakeholders, support plant performance testing, and capture lessons learned.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of engineering or operations experience.
• At least 5 years of direct commissioning and startup experience with large process plants.
• Experience commissioning cryogenic and non-cryogenic air separation units and hydrogen plants.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work full-time at project facilities, including extended periods away from home.
• Strong troubleshooting and timely decision-making skills in high-stress situations.
• Good written and verbal English required.

Nice to have

• Chemical engineering or process control background.
• Engineering or operations experience with air separation units.
• Ultra-high-purity systems experience.
• Experience with flammable gas and high-temperature process gas systems.
