Software Engineer (Remote, Salem, OH)

Location: Remote within the United States; company headquartered in Salem, Ohio.

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Build and ship veteran portal features for scheduling, document management, and account status.
• Develop AI-assisted tools for drafting nexus letters and disability benefits questionnaires.
• Build and maintain REST APIs connecting CRM, payroll, and provider onboarding systems.
• Automate repetitive workflows across HR, Accounting, and Provider Relations.
• Implement role-based access controls and audit logging for internal AI tools.
• Partner with the Senior Software Engineer on technical direction and document systems and integrations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend skills in Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs and webhooks.
• Experience integrating third-party platforms such as CRMs, payment processors, or scheduling tools.
• Experience building internal automation and operational tooling.
• Ability to work independently and own projects from scoping through deployment.

Nice to have

• Front-end experience with React, Vue, or similar technologies, plus TypeScript.
• Experience with CRM and scheduling platforms such as GoHighLevel.
• Experience building AI features with LangGraph or the Vercel AI SDK.
• Healthcare, compliance, or HIPAA-adjacent experience.
• Military service or a personal connection to the veteran community.
