Staff Software Engineer (Vue/AI)

Location: Remote

Salary: $200,000–$235,000 per year, plus equity, benefits, and bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead a zero-to-one AI initiative for evidence-based oncology care decisions from discovery and prototyping through production launch and ongoing delivery.
• Partner with clinical, policy, operations, product, and business leaders to translate care workflows, clinical guidelines, and operating rules into reliable software logic.
• Own architecture and hands-on development across Vue and TypeScript web applications, Python and FastAPI services, APIs, data models, integrations, and AWS infrastructure.
• Design and productionize LLM-powered features for automated decisioning, document understanding, conversational experiences, and chat.
• Develop evaluation, prompting, and guardrail patterns that make automated decisions accurate, safe, auditable, and defensible.
• Mentor engineers and improve design, testing, code review, documentation, and technical decision-making practices.

Requirements

• Experience building, launching, and operating complex software products from initial concept through production.
• Experience leading zero-to-one or early-stage product development in ambiguous environments.
• Strong full-stack engineering experience with JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, relational databases such as Postgres, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience designing APIs and data models and building robust backend services with technologies comparable to Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing and shipping reliable LLM-powered product features in production.
• Strong architectural judgment with attention to security, privacy, reliability, user needs, and long-term maintainability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js, Python, FastAPI, Postgres, and AWS.
• Experience working in a new business line, internal venture, incubation team, or similarly fast-changing environment.
• Experience using AI-enabled development tools to prototype and ship production software.
