Senior Privacy and AI Counsel

Annual salary: $179.2K–$268.8K, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Product, R&D, Hardware, Marketing, and Clinical teams on privacy and AI compliance for new healthcare products and services.
• Develop and maintain privacy and AI policies and procedures with Compliance.
• Oversee privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments.
• Advise internal and client-facing teams on privacy, AI, and data protection issues.
• Embed privacy-by-design principles into product design and execution decisions.
• Lead privacy incident response with Security and Compliance and negotiate DSAs, BAAs, and related agreements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5–7 years of experience in privacy law and data protection.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international privacy laws, including HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Familiarity with AI and machine-learning privacy issues and AI governance practices.
• Strong analytical, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and independent problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• CIPP or similar privacy certification.
• Experience using AI tools to improve legal deliverables.
• Healthcare or digital health experience combined with law firm experience at a nationally recognized firm.
• Experience working at both operational and strategic levels.
