General Counsel (AdTech & Privacy)

Location: Remote-first, with employees working from different locations and time zones indefinitely

Product company providing privacy-first identity infrastructure for omnichannel digital advertising, serving publishers, platforms, and brands globally.

What you will do

• Lead legal and enterprise-risk strategy as the senior legal adviser to the CEO, founders, and board.
• Own commercial contract architecture across customer and partner agreements, product modules, order forms, DPAs, and NDAs.
• Advise on strategic partnerships, investments, acquisitions, integrations, and other corporate development initiatives.
• Provide senior legal guidance on GDPR, UK GDPR, US state privacy laws, consent frameworks, data transfers, and retention.
• Oversee disputes, intellectual-property exposure, indemnities, corporate governance, insurance, and cross-border entity structures.
• Build a scalable legal function by developing the in-house team, managing external counsel, and improving legal processes and tooling.

Requirements

• Experience as the senior in-house legal decision-maker or immediately beneath one, with ownership of enterprise-critical matters.
• Strong commercial and regulatory judgment in adtech, digital identity, data infrastructure, privacy technology, or complex B2B software.
• Ability to translate novel data-protection issues into practical product and contracting decisions.
• Experience advising founders, executives, and boards while working collaboratively with Commercial, Product, Engineering, and People teams.
• Qualified lawyer admitted and in good standing in the US, UK, or another relevant jurisdiction for a UK-parented technology group with significant US exposure.
• Ability to work remotely across different locations and time zones indefinitely.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with adtech and the identity ecosystem, including IAB consent frameworks, digital advertising standards, data marketplaces, or data-broker regulation.
• Experience integrating acquisitions across jurisdictions, including entity governance, data integration, commercial migration, and EOR or PEO employment structures.
