EMEA Counsel (AI/SaaS)

Location: London, UK; hybrid. The role supports EMEA teams during European business hours.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary legal partner for EMEA teams across privacy, product, commercial, regulatory, and go-to-market matters.
• Advise on GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, direct-marketing rules, data subject rights, international transfers, and privacy-by-design.
• Partner with Privacy, Product, and AI counsel on European data, product, and AI regulatory matters.
• Support sales and partnerships by negotiating sales agreements, DPAs, customer terms, and enterprise contracts.
• Guide expansion into new European jurisdictions and coordinate local counsel when needed.
• Build scalable legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks, and self-service processes.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in the UK or an EU jurisdiction, or equivalent qualification.
• 8+ years of legal experience, preferably including 4+ years in-house at a fast-growing B2B technology company.
• Strong knowledge of European privacy, data protection, marketing regulations, and the EU AI Act.
• Experience negotiating complex B2B SaaS agreements, DPAs, and enterprise contracts.
• Ability to work as a generalist and build practical legal frameworks from first principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical, executive, and commercial audiences.

• Experience with data-intensive platforms, AI, or sales technology.
• Experience supporting U.S. technology companies expanding into EMEA.
• CIPP/E and/or AIGP certification.
