Senior Operational Risk Manager

Location: San Francisco, New York, or Portland, United States, or remote within Canada or the United States

Salary: $179,900–$249,900 USD for US employees, or $189,000–$236,200 CAD for Canadian employees, depending on location

What you will do

• Own the day-to-day operation and continued build-out of the centralized Operational Risk Management program.
• Set risk and control assessment standards, review first-line risk and control matrices, and independently test critical processes.
• Lead the operational event and issues management programs from intake and triage through remediation, validation, and closure.
• Define enterprise KRIs and thresholds, aggregate first-line metrics, and prepare operational risk reporting for leadership and the Board.
• Partner with first-line risk teams, Information Security, Compliance, model risk owners, Third-Party Risk, and Internal Audit.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and bank charter readiness reviews.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in operational risk, compliance, or internal audit at a bank or fintech partnered with a bank.
• Hands-on ownership of an issues management or operational event program, including severity rating, escalation, and remediation validation.
• Experience administering a GRC platform such as LogicGate, Archer, or a similar system, including workflow configuration and reporting.
• Strong data skills with the ability to turn issue and event data into actionable trends for leadership.
• Familiarity with interagency and OCC expectations for operational risk management.
• Ability to challenge assessments constructively, build strong working relationships, and execute key projects independently.

Nice to have

• Experience preparing for regulatory examinations, audits, or bank charter readiness reviews.
• Experience building operational risk programs that are still being established.
