Senior Fraud Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Bay Area, Palo Alto, California, with regular in-office collaboration and remote work.

Salary: $145,000–$195,000 base salary per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own and evolve fraud strategies across fleet card and legacy payment products.
• Identify emerging fraud patterns and translate findings into scalable rules, controls, and policies.
• Partner with Data Science to develop, evaluate, and improve fraud detection models.
• Use SQL, Python, and advanced analytics to investigate transaction trends, vulnerabilities, and root causes.
• Define fraud KPIs, loss thresholds, monitoring frameworks, dashboards, and reporting.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed fraud controls and support expansion into new payment rails, including ACH.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in fraud strategy, risk, or payments, preferably in fintech or a high-volume payments business.
• Hands-on experience developing and optimizing fraud rules, controls, monitoring, and loss-management strategies.
• Advanced SQL skills; proficiency with Python and spreadsheets is preferred.
• Experience analyzing transaction data to identify fraud patterns, vulnerabilities, and root causes.
• Experience partnering with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Operations to implement fraud solutions.
• Familiarity with card payments, ACH, digital payments, or other complex payment ecosystems.
