Senior Engineering Manager (Kubernetes)

Location: San Jose, CA, USA

Compensation range: $306,000–$568,320 USD TTC/OTE, including base pay and performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to deliver product features.
• Design, develop in Go, and test features for backup and recovery of Kubernetes applications, databases, and storage systems.
• Contribute to the cloud-native open-source community.
• Prepare technical documentation and specifications.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing an engineering team.
• 5+ years of experience developing enterprise solutions in C++, Java, C#, or another high-level programming language, with willingness to learn Go.
• Experience developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, multithreaded, concurrent systems.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals.
• University degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Bash, Git, OpenShift, Rancher, GKE, EKS, AKS, or VMware TKG.

Nice to have

• Professional experience developing in Go.
• Experience with containers, schedulers, and orchestration platforms.
• Contributions to Kubernetes or other cloud-native open-source projects.
• Participation in CNCF Technical Advisory Groups or Kubernetes Special Interest Groups.
