TL;DR
Senior AI/ML Engineer (MXC) (AI/ML): Training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and integrating machine learning and large language models across a risk intelligence and response platform with an accent on supervised learning, prompt engineering, and production model performance. Focus on designing evaluation pipelines, benchmarking commercial and open-source LLMs, optimizing Elasticsearch-backed AI systems, and deploying safe, scalable AI features.
Location: Remote within Mexico; residence in Mexico is required. An office is available in Mexico City, but office attendance is optional.

What you will do
- Train and fine-tune supervised learning models, including classification, ranking, and embeddings, for internal tools and customer-facing features.
- Lead prompt engineering, testing, and evaluation efforts for large language models and traditional machine learning models.
- Design tools and pipelines for model benchmarking, prompt iteration, performance tracking, and production monitoring.
- Evaluate commercial and open-source LLMs for performance, cost, alignment, and reliability.
- Optimize Elasticsearch-backed data systems and AI pipelines.
- Collaborate with security, product, and engineering teams to integrate safe, scalable, and maintainable AI features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years in machine learning engineering, data science, or applied AI.
- Strong understanding of LLMs and traditional machine learning methods.
- Experience with prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, evaluation, offline metrics, cross-validation, and A/B testing.
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
- Experience with Elasticsearch or other large-scale search and indexing platforms, plus cloud-based ML tooling and data workflows.
- Must reside in Mexico and already have authorization to work in Mexico without current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience training and deploying supervised learning models in production environments.
