Senior AI Engineer (Developer Productivity & SDLC)

Location: Wietmarschen-Lohne, Germany; home office is possible.

What you will do

• Evaluate, configure, and maintain AI development tools including GitHub Copilot, custom agents, and local LLMs.
• Standardize AI agent integrations with internal tools, services, and development workflows using MCP.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation systems over internal documentation and develop reusable system prompts.
• Define productivity and quality metrics, run controlled pilots, and measure the impact of AI-assisted development.
• Build reusable CI/CD templates for ML pipelines and maintain shared ML infrastructure.
• Run training sessions, document best practices, and develop an internal AI knowledge base.

Requirements

• 5+ years of ML engineering experience and several years of leadership as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager in ML.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable production ML systems and software platforms with measurable business impact.
• Strong Python, cloud, and MLOps experience, including CI/CD for ML, versioning, monitoring, and automation.
• Deep knowledge of LLM architectures, foundation models, embedding models, agentic frameworks, multi-agent systems, and prompt engineering.
• Experience building platform and infrastructure tools for engineering teams and defining development workflows.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics, lead without formal authority, and work autonomously in ambiguous environments.
