Research Associate (iPSC/CNS Models)

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Expand, bank, and quality-control human iPSC lines.
• Generate large-scale iPSC-derived neuron banks and isolate and culture rodent neurons.
• Maintain long-term neuronal cultures and perform reproducible experiments at scale.
• Support the design and engineering of workhorse iPSC lines.
• Optimize, troubleshoot, and upscale neuronal models and high-throughput biochemical, imaging, and activity assays.
• Document deviations, maintain audit-ready records, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• BS, BA, or MS in biology or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with advanced cell models such as iPSCs and CNS primary cultures.
• Excellent aseptic technique and familiarity with gDNA and RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence, and ELISA.
• Schedule flexibility for intermittent weekend laboratory work to maintain iPSC cultures.
• Experience following SOPs, troubleshooting experiments, recognizing deviations, and communicating issues promptly.
• Strong organization and documentation skills using an ELN, LIMS, or another structured sample-tracking system.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of neurodegeneration and neurotoxicity.
• Experience with large-scale cell-based screens and automation instruments such as liquid handlers, plate washers, and high-throughput imagers.
• Experience analyzing large datasets.
• Experience optimizing complex in vitro CNS models using iPSCs.
