Senior Corporate Counsel (AI)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid, with at least three days per week in the Chicago office

Salary: $180,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the company’s commercial contracting function, including commercial, data licensing, SaaS, vendor, and business-to-business agreements.
• Lead intellectual property matters covering trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, licensed data rights, IP clearance, and infringement risks.
• Improve legal processes, templates, contract workflows, document management systems, and internal legal technology adoption.
• Support M&A due diligence, transaction documentation, disclosure schedules, and post-close integration activities.
• Advise on U.S. and international privacy and data protection requirements in partnership with IT, Security, Product, and HR.
• Maintain the AI governance framework, manage outside counsel, support policy development, and monitor legal and regulatory developments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of legal experience in a corporate or law firm setting, including commercial transactions counsel experience.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience drafting commercial, licensing, vendor, services, and other business-to-business transactional documents.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously, identify legal and business risks, and produce clear, practical written work.
• Experience with business and legal technology tools, such as Salesforce, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
