Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Location: Andover, Massachusetts, United States — hybrid with in-office days on Wednesday and Thursday

Base salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Own and enhance Azure cloud infrastructure, governance, and platform standards across commercial and sovereign cloud environments.
• Design and automate infrastructure with Terraform or Bicep, Azure DevOps, and PowerShell.
• Lead identity and access management initiatives involving Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Active Directory, Conditional Access, PIM, and Zero Trust.
• Manage certificates, PKI, secrets, and authentication strategies for secure and reliable operations.
• Establish security, compliance, monitoring, observability, and cost optimization practices, including support for CMMC and NIST requirements.
• Document architectures and runbooks, mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and partner on modernization, migration, and business continuity initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience with Azure Government, Microsoft 365 GCC High, or other sovereign cloud environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Active Directory, SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SCIM.
• Production experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep, plus advanced PowerShell automation and Git-based CI/CD workflows.
• Deep knowledge of Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, cloud governance, networking, and regulated or audited environments.
• Ability to establish technical standards, lead design reviews, document complex solutions, and communicate effectively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, or FedRAMP.
• Enterprise-scale Okta administration, identity governance, certificate lifecycle automation, or PKI management experience.
• Experience with Datadog, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, Python, or Go.
• Certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-500, SC-300, or Terraform Associate.
