Location: Remote; hire regardless of location with significant hours overlap with one of the Americas time zones

Salary: $220,000–$300,000 USD annually in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT; $187,000–$255,000 USD annually in other US states

What you will do

• Oversee and scale accounting and tax operations, strategy, systems, processes, and policies.
• Lead the monthly close, annual audits, financial reporting, and internal control processes.
• Manage the accounting function across general ledger, accounts payable, technical and revenue accounting, payroll, equity, tax, and treasury.
• Lead the in-house accounting team and external consultants.
• Partner with Strategic Finance, People, Engineering, Legal, business-unit leaders, the CFO, and other executives.
• Support M&A, fundraising, secondary transactions, and potential future IPO initiatives.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience, including 3+ years at a top-tier audit firm and 8+ years in-house accounting at fast-growing startups.
• Experience progressing to a controller or assistant controller role and building accounting teams with managers and individual contributors.
• Experience managing full-cycle accounting close and operations, tax, treasury, payroll, and equity administration.
• Experience leading multiple clean Big Four audits and applying US GAAP to complex transactions, including ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, and ASC 350.
• Experience scaling finance operations through major process or systems overhauls, including AI-powered workflows.
• Experience overseeing global indirect tax compliance, including US sales tax and international VAT/GST.

Nice to have

• Lead-level accounting experience at a public technology company.
• Experience with AI-native finance tools such as Rillet.
• Experience with complex businesses, multiple revenue models, business combination accounting, and integrations.
• Active CPA license.
