Head of Process & Controls (AI Infrastructure)

Location: San Mateo, United States; hybrid

Salary: $260K–$270K plus equity

What you will do

• Build and lead the process architecture, governance, ownership model, controls, and operating standards for AI infrastructure and financial operations.
• Standardize and stabilize fragmented workflows across infrastructure provisioning, usage measurement, billing, procurement, accounting, and reporting.
• Own the end-to-end Order-to-Cash and Purchase-to-Pay processes, including usage capture, pricing, invoicing, supplier reconciliation, accruals, and collections.
• Establish controls and automated reconciliations connecting infrastructure telemetry, metering, contracts, billing systems, supplier data, and the general ledger.
• Lead AI-enabled automation for anomaly detection, usage and invoice validation, exception routing, leakage identification, and control evidence collection.
• Build and lead a high-performing Process & Controls organization while partnering with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Data, and Internal Audit.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in process transformation, controllership, finance operations, business operations, internal controls, or a related discipline.
• Significant leadership experience building or transforming complex, cross-functional processes in immature, fragmented, or rapidly evolving environments.
• Strong expertise in Order-to-Cash and Purchase-to-Pay processes, usage-based billing, metering, reconciliation, pricing, and consumption economics.
• Experience designing financial and operational control frameworks for technology, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, hyperscale infrastructure, or other consumption-based businesses.
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Data, Product, Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams, with strong knowledge of ERP, billing, procurement, data, and financial systems.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled workflow automation, anomaly detection, SOX, financial reporting controls, audit requirements, and accounting processes.

Nice to have

• Experience in a high-growth AI, cloud infrastructure, hyperscaler, or technology company.
• Experience with cloud providers and AI infrastructure vendors.
• Experience implementing or scaling usage metering, billing, FinOps, procurement, reconciliation, or workflow platforms.
• Experience leading large-scale process cleanup, transformation, and automation programs.
