Senior Mechanical Engineer (Gas Power Generation)

Location: Remote with travel, limited to candidates holding valid independent U.S. work authorization; travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Salary: $100,561–$145,814 per year.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering activities across estimating, bid design, project delivery, construction support, and closeout.
• Develop Bases of Design, manage RFIs, perform equipment and material quantity takeoffs, and deliver economical, code-compliant designs.
• Coordinate design reviews, schedules, resources, procurement deliverables, owners, Engineers of Record, vendors, and outside engineering firms.
• Support pre-bid site assessments, constructability reviews, contract and subcontract reviews, and field construction teams.
• Manage scope changes and design deviations, document lessons learned, and improve design quality and proposal competitiveness.
• Mentor, train, and onboard junior engineering staff while providing technical leadership across concurrent projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited college, or equivalent industry experience.
• At least five years of progressive engineering or engineering supervisory experience in power generation, utilities, industrial, or a related industry.
• Working knowledge of utility-scale engineering equipment and applications, with experience in mechanical equipment sizing and selection preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, scheduling, prioritization, cost-tracking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge, experience, or interest in AI.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and valid independent U.S. work authorization required; H-1B and permanent-residency sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license with a mechanical engineering emphasis.
• Experience with simple-cycle, reciprocating engine, or combined-cycle power generation systems.
• Experience in power quality and reliability analysis, economic analysis, value engineering, or equipment vendor coordination.
