Power Generation Mechanical Project Engineer

What you will do

• Lead design and project management for moderately complex power generation projects, including discipline-specific, multidisciplinary, and programmatic initiatives.
• Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, including incident investigations and corrective action development.
• Control project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform and review engineering analyses, studies, conceptual designs, project scopes, alternatives, and recommended solutions.
• Prepare, evaluate, and oversee consultant, vendor, contractor, and EPC contracts and related technical work.
• Interpret applicable codes and approve or stamp technical reports, specifications, drawings, and revisions.

Requirements

• Four-year BS degree in engineering from an accredited US program or equivalent international degree.
• Current California Professional Engineer license in the appropriate discipline, or an equivalent PE license from another US state or Canada with California licensure obtained within 18 months of hiring.
• At least three years of cumulative experience in project engineering, design, and construction.
• Mastery of Associate-level Project Engineer duties and demonstrated ability to perform journey-level engineering and project management work.
• Knowledge of power generation assets, rotating machines, engineering design, construction, applicable codes, standards, regulations, and industry practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, direct consultants and contractors, provide technical guidance, and work with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Project Management Institute Project Management Professional certification.
• Mechanical Engineer PE license.
• Experience managing contracts, resolving disputes, building consensus, and improving business processes.
