Power Generation Mechanical Project Engineer, Associate

What you will do

• Support small to medium capital and expense projects for power-generation and infrastructure facilities.
• Participate as a mechanical, civil, or electrical engineer and project manager on project teams.
• Prepare design criteria, engineering calculations, specifications, reviews, approvals, and project documentation.
• Coordinate procurement, vendor drawings, construction support, field inspections, startup testing, and as-built updates.
• Manage project scope, schedules, costs, resources, contracts, consultants, contractors, and stakeholder communications.
• Support operations and maintenance teams, emergency facility assessments, and periodic on-call supervision.

Requirements

• Four-year BS degree in Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent international degree.
• Current and active Engineering-In-Training certification and California PE license.
• At least 18 months of engineering or project management experience, related-industry performance, or qualifying PG&E program experience.
• Ability to apply engineering and project management principles to design, analysis, cost estimation, scheduling, and project delivery.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, leadership, and consensus-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.

Nice to have

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Mechanical PE license.
• Five years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the utility industry, design requirements, industry standards, contracting, and project controls.
