Finance Associate (AI)

Location: Melville, New York, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and remote work on Wednesday and Friday

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, vendor relationships, and timely payments.
• Support the rollout and adoption of an AI-powered accounts payable system.
• Own accounts receivable activities, including client invoicing, collections tracking, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and general ledger updates for month-end and year-end close.
• Support financial reporting, audit preparation, ad hoc analysis, and discrepancy resolution.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and use AI tools to automate routine finance tasks and surface insights from financial data.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance with hands-on ownership of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and the month-end close process.
• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
• Demonstrated day-to-day use of AI tools, with the ability to explain specific applications.
• High attention to detail and accurate, organized financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with internal teams and external vendors.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted or automated accounts payable tools and workflow automation.
• Background in SaaS, technology, or subscription-based businesses.
• Exposure to audit preparation or external auditors.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
