Senior Accountant, AI & Automation

Location: Remote USA

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Own significant portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Build and manage an accounting automation roadmap using AI tools and modern finance technology while measuring time and cycle-time savings.
• Create documented, controlled, and maintainable workflows and train accounting teammates on new automations.
• Manage sales tax and VAT compliance, including Avalara maintenance, reconciliations, multi-state filings, and coordination with external advisors.
• Support revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accruals, prepaids, commissions, payroll-related entries, fixed assets, depreciation, leases, and French subsidiary accounting.
• Prepare audit schedules, financial statements, management and board reporting, variance analysis, cash flow reporting, and departmental reporting while partnering with FP&A, HR, Payroll, and Sales Operations.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with hands-on account reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly close responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, sales tax compliance, financial statement analysis, Oracle or NetSuite, Avalara, and advanced Excel.
• Experience personally building or implementing accounting or finance automation with measurable impact.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, SQL, Python, APIs, or workflow automation platforms.

Nice to have

• Power Query experience.
• Experience working in a SaaS company.
• CPA or a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
