Equipment Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Fulton, Missouri, United States; hybrid schedule. Domestic and international travel of up to 10% is required. Relocation is not available.

Salary: $77,600–$124,200 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and support Windows-based equipment applications using C# and .NET, including operator interfaces, diagnostics, production tools, configuration utilities, and printer integrations.
• Troubleshoot complex problems involving software, electrical systems, sensors, PLCs, motors, drives, encoders, printers, networking, and mechanical components.
• Integrate applications with industrial equipment and PLC-connected control systems using Modbus, OPC, serial communication, TCP/IP, and related protocols.
• Act as a final software-support escalation point and document findings, diagnostics, and appropriate technical ownership.
• Develop automated tests, diagnostic tools, and validation processes, including responsible use and review of AI-assisted development tools.
• Collaborate with software, controls, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, service, and customer-facing teams on installations, upgrades, requirements, and supportability.

Requirements

• Five or more years of relevant software development experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong experience developing Windows applications with C# and .NET, including WPF, WinForms, or similar desktop application technologies.
• Experience designing maintainable, testable software and applying automated testing practices.
• Experience integrating software with external hardware, industrial equipment, devices, or third-party systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and distinguish software issues from electrical, sensor, mechanical, PLC, printer, networking, and other equipment problems.
• Ability to work independently, document technical findings clearly, use Git, and collaborate across multiple technical disciplines.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field.
• PLC programming experience and familiarity with industrial automation environments.
• Experience integrating printers or other specialized peripherals.
• Background in building products, manufacturing, industrial automation, machinery, or equipment software.
