Advanced Software Engineer (C#)

Location: Illinois, United States; remote or hybrid

Salary: $103,000–$155,000 per year, plus annual performance bonus and long-term incentives

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate distributed, scalable, secure full-stack cloud services processing petabytes of data weekly.
• Build storage abstraction layers, libraries, content-addressable stores, backend services, data pipelines, and performant accessible user interfaces.
• Develop core platform capabilities on the Azure stack across storage, compute, and networking.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code using modern development tooling and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design partners on AI-powered legal data solutions.
• Participate in design and code reviews, on-call rotations, incident response, and reliability improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with APIs, event-driven architecture, data platforms, cloud architecture patterns, and data-intensive applications.
• Strong proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming principles.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code using modern tooling and CI/CD.
• Security- and reliability-focused approach with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code, and with Agentic AI and autonomous LLM frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience building extensible APIs, client libraries, automated cloud infrastructure control planes, or other core platform services.
• Experience with performance or cost optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Azure storage, compute, and networking technologies.
