Senior Privacy Specialist (AI)

Location: Hybrid in London; candidates must be based in the EU or UK and have the right to work in those geographies

What you will do

• Serve as the senior privacy point of contact for the UK and EU, including correspondence with the ICO and EU supervisory authorities.
• Advise product, engineering, go-to-market, and Legal teams on UK/EU privacy requirements, risks, and acceptable approaches.
• Own data subject rights processes, statutory deadlines, exemption decisions, and regional records.
• Manage cross-border transfer compliance through UK IDTAs, Addenda, EU SCCs, adequacy assessments, and Transfer Impact Assessments.
• Lead UK/EU breach assessment, notification decisions, regulator and data subject communications, and post-incident follow-up.
• Embed privacy by design into products, models, vendors, and AI governance practices.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in privacy or data protection, including meaningful experience in a technology, SaaS, or cloud company.
• Deep practical knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and the Data Protection Act 2018.
• Experience acting as the sole or primary privacy owner for a region, product, or company.
• Hands-on experience with DPIAs, DSARs, privacy by design, supervisory authorities, and international transfer mechanisms.
• Strong communication skills across engineering, Legal, sales, and executive audiences.
• Based in the EU or UK with the right to work in those geographies.

Nice to have

• Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or FIP.
• Experience with OneTrust, TrustArc, Transcend, DataGrail, Securiti, or similar privacy tooling.
• Exposure to ISO 42001, AI/ML data governance, model training data, or the EU AI Act.
• Experience establishing a regional privacy function at a growth-stage company.
