What you will do

• Provide strategic and day-to-day legal counsel for UK and EU teams and support the expansion into new EU markets.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, vendor, logistics, supplier, SaaS, API, cloud infrastructure, and data service agreements.
• Advise on UK and EU employment matters, GDPR, data subject rights, cookie compliance, consumer protection, marketing, pricing, and sustainability claims.
• Support AI governance, responsible AI practices, machine-learning deployments, technology regulation, and intellectual property ownership and licensing.
• Advise on product compliance, environmental and trade regulations, ethical sourcing, trademarks, IP protection, disputes, and risk management.
• Build practical legal processes, playbooks, policies, and risk registers while managing external counsel and legal matters end-to-end.

Requirements

• UK-qualified solicitor with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong generalist legal background, preferably combining top-tier law firm training with in-house experience in a high-growth, technology-led, or retail company.
• Ability to provide pragmatic commercial advice, work independently, and own legal projects from start to finish.
• Experience working cross-functionally with business stakeholders and non-legal teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage high volumes of work, prioritize effectively, and make sound judgments with incomplete information.
• Confidence using AI tools to improve legal team efficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience with product liability, textiles or packaging regulations, environmental regulation, or ESG compliance.
• Experience with AI governance, responsible AI, machine-learning deployment, the EU AI Act, UK AI regulation, or the Digital Markets Act.
• Experience supporting EU expansion and advising on multi-jurisdictional compliance.
