Data Protection Manager

What you will do

• Develop data protection strategies, policies, frameworks, and technical tools supporting UK GDPR compliance.
• Advise software engineering, finance, marketing, business development, and other teams on data privacy matters.
• Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments, maintain the Record of Processing Activities, and conduct Legitimate Interest Assessments.
• Own and improve end-to-end Subject Rights Management processes, including Data Subject Access Requests.
• Investigate and manage data breaches, including reporting and communication with the ICO.
• Support customer data protection agreements, supplier due diligence, training, regulatory monitoring, and compliance reporting.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering data protection compliance in a fast-paced business.
• Experience working with software product teams building bespoke customer and internal solutions.
• Familiarity with modern tools including Google Workspace and Slack.
• Ability to explain data protection concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences.
• Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and able to own initiatives through to implementation.
• Ability to prioritise work in a pressured environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Awareness of information security principles and ISO 27001 compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of FCA regulation and experience in financial services.
• Background in technology.
