Privacy by Design Lead

Location: Newbury, United Kingdom; hybrid working with office attendance 2–3 days per week and at least 8 days per month

What you will do

• Provide practical, solution-focused Privacy by Design guidance across projects, products, and technology initiatives.
• Support compliance with UK GDPR, PECR, privacy approvals, DPIAs, and related assessments.
• Partner with product, technology, commercial, security, legal, compliance, and operations teams.
• Identify privacy risks, recommend proportionate mitigations, and support risk monitoring and governance.
• Improve privacy frameworks, processes, automation, and self-service tools.
• Deliver privacy training and awareness initiatives while monitoring regulatory and technology developments.

Requirements

• Experience in privacy, data protection, or a related compliance role.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, Privacy by Design principles, and DPIA requirements.
• Interest in technology, telecommunications, data-driven products, and emerging areas such as AI.
• Ability to balance privacy risk with commercial objectives and provide pragmatic advice.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proactive, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
