Contractor, Senior Application Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements for regional business applications.
• Provide second-line production support, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve operational issues.
• Develop and maintain services, APIs, integrations, scripts, and automation for operational support.
• Analyze application logs, system metrics, and monitoring data to improve platform stability, performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Participate in deployments, release activities, change management, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, database, cybersecurity, architecture, and business teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise applications.
• Strong Java skills, preferably with Spring or Spring Boot, plus Apache Tomcat.
• SQL and database development experience, PowerShell and automation scripting, and Linux/RHEL/Unix expertise with Bash or shell scripting.
• Experience with application support and production troubleshooting.
• Financial markets experience involving securities and trade lifecycle processing, regulatory reporting, reconciliation, or front-office to back-office integration flows.

Nice to have

• REST APIs, IBM MQ, enterprise messaging, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• SWIFT messaging, DTCC connectivity, post-trade processing, and CSV/XML file-based integrations.
• LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, OIDC, or Entra ID authentication technologies.
