Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: New York, NY; employees are required to work in the office 4 days per week

Base salary: $170,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Build core services for hirify.global Studio, a modern brokerage experience.
• Develop services for user authentication, authorization, and client data delivery.
• Design scalable solutions for complex business problems involving massive amounts of data.
• Improve API design, functionality, performance, and system reliability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and system design culture.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional experience building highly scalable services in Java.
• Deep understanding of the Spring Framework ecosystem.
• Experience with distributed systems, large-scale data, system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders.
• Strong focus on end-user experience, API quality, and service performance.
• Ability to work in the New York office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with OAuth2, fine-grained authorization systems such as Auth0 FGA or Authzed, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Gradle, or Kubernetes.
