Software Engineer (Java/Spring Boot)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable microservices and components of a monolithic payment-processing application.
• Build high-volume, highly available software with strong scalability, reliability, data recovery, and zero-downtime deployment.
• Translate requirements from Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support teams into technical solutions.
• Develop merchant onboarding automation and integrate file-based card-brand processes and RESTful services.
• Apply Agile practices including pair programming, test-driven development, and continuous production delivery.
• Develop domain expertise in ecommerce payments and deliver new product features.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• Must be located in the Greater Boston Area or work hybrid three days per week from Alpharetta, Georgia.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant Java software engineering experience, excluding internships.
• Strong Java, SQL, relational data modeling, database schema design, and software architecture skills.
• Experience with microservices, globally distributed services, 24/7 support, RESTful API design, Kubernetes, and Kafka.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, OpenShift, monitoring, self-healing platforms, and high-volume low-latency transactional systems.
• Experience with Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Harness, Snyk, SonarQube, Cucumber, or Karate.
• Experience with Splunk, Sysdig, OpsGenie, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or related observability tools.
• JUnit, test-driven development, and pair programming experience.
