Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States; in-office work required four days per week.

Salary: $131,328.00–$136,328.00 per year

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, debug, and maintain systems ranging from basic to highly complex applications.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, web services, and application interfaces across platforms.
• Prepare and execute detailed test plans, review test data, and support user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate development tasks and provide technical direction to less experienced resources on projects of varying scope.
• Prepare technical and functional specifications, system documentation, diagrams, and project plan components.
• Support application effectiveness, technology evaluations, risk controls, audit remediation, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least four years of experience in the offered role, systems analysis, software/application development, Java development, systems engineering, or a related occupation.
• Three years of experience developing RESTful APIs and web services; using Java 8+ features; working with Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Boot, and Maven; applying OOP; and implementing Java exception handling.
• Two years of experience with SOAP, JSON, XML, JUnit, Postman or ReadyAPI, Git or GitLab, and GitLab or Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Two years of experience designing and optimizing SQL queries, working with relational databases, using Docker, and working with Splunk, Kibana, or Dynatrace.
• Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban, and ability to work in the Buffalo office four days per week.
