Principal/Senior AI Engineer

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; flexible hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: $228,000–$342,000 USD for the primary Atlanta location; additional US locations offer $176,000–$312,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and integrate intelligent agent systems into hirify.global’s enterprise products.
• Build and orchestrate complex agentic workflows, including multi-agent frameworks, routing layers, and advanced RAG pipelines.
• Integrate foundation models and AI APIs into scalable, user-facing software.
• Apply responsible AI practices, including privacy guardrails, security layers, predictability, explainability, and evaluation mechanisms.
• Optimize latency, cost, token usage, context-window efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
• Lead engineering workstreams, own development lifecycles, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Principal level: 10+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years building production-grade LLM or agentic systems, or qualifying machine learning and AI application experience.
• Senior level: 8+ years of software engineering experience with 1+ years building production-grade LLM or agentic systems, or qualifying machine learning and AI application experience.
• At least 2–3 years integrating large models and modern AI APIs into user-facing enterprise products.
• Experience with distributed systems, backend architecture, API design, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI governance for autonomous agents handling sensitive enterprise HR and financial data.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience benchmarking model outputs, prototyping rapidly, and creating automated retrieval and agent behavior evaluations.
