Principal Engineer - Agentic AI Platform

hirify.global is developing AI-powered retail experiences and an agentic AI platform for commerce, inventory, operations, and customer experience.

What you will do

• Architect and evolve foundational platform layers for agent orchestration, tool use, memory, and multi-agent coordination.
• Translate business goals into reusable platform capabilities for autonomous agent workflows.
• Lead cross-team design reviews, establish engineering standards, and create architecture artifacts.
• Evaluate and integrate LLM APIs, vector stores, RAG patterns, and agentic frameworks.
• Drive platform observability, evaluation, guardrails, reliability, and responsible agent behavior.
• Mentor engineers, resolve complex incidents, develop proofs of concept, and influence technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed platforms.
• Deep production experience with LLMs, foundation model APIs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and embedding-based search.
• Experience building shared AI infrastructure or developer platforms for multiple engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java, with cloud-native development experience on AWS and/or GCP.
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, API gateways, data pipelines, CI/CD, Kubernetes or Docker, observability, and reliability engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus experience influencing leaders and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience building autonomous AI agents with LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or OpenAI Assistants API.
• Knowledge of multi-agent orchestration, task decomposition, tool-use pipelines, agent memory, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Experience with agent evaluation, safety guardrails, responsible AI, retail or e-commerce workflows, and supply chain systems.
• Contributions to open-source AI or platform projects and experience with Spark, BigQuery, Redshift, or production ML integrations.
