Principal Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Own the architecture and development of the AI layer for the AI Canvas cybersecurity data exploration platform.
• Build production-grade systems using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, assistants, tools, skills, and agent harnesses.
• Develop natural-language-to-query workflows for investigation, clarification, troubleshooting, and exploration of security data.
• Design agentic AI architectures covering orchestration, context management, tool invocation, memory, reasoning, and multi-step execution.
• Build evaluation frameworks, guardrails, safety mechanisms, monitoring, tracing, and observability for AI systems.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical initiatives across ML, backend, UI, product, and design teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering, machine learning engineering, or related industry experience, including production systems development.
• Hands-on experience building scalable machine learning or AI-powered applications using LLMs and generative AI.
• Experience with RAG, AI agents, AI assistants, tool-calling systems, agent orchestration, or LLM-based workflows.
• Strong Python skills and experience developing production-grade backend or ML services on public cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, distributed systems, APIs, testing, CI/CD, evaluation, and observability.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience with natural-language-to-SQL or natural-language-to-query systems, semantic layers, or AI-powered data exploration products.
• Experience with vector databases, search and retrieval infrastructure, embeddings, evaluation harnesses, and human-in-the-loop evaluation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, highly available low-latency AI services, and enterprise AI security.
• Experience in cybersecurity, security analytics, observability, large-scale data platforms, or open-source AI and infrastructure projects.
