Senior Analyst, Travel & Expense

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid policy requiring staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $190,000–$230,000 USD

What you will do

• Operate daily travel and expense controls covering approvals, card issuance, spend limits, segregation of duties, policy exceptions, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
• Maintain process narratives and risk-and-control matrices, prepare control evidence, support walkthroughs and sample requests, and coordinate remediation with internal and external auditors.
• Set up entity-level coding and approval flows for new countries and legal entities, documenting per diem, VAT reclaim, card, receipt, and local tax requirements.
• Design and run a risk-based T&E audit program with sampling, anomaly detection, duplicate and split-transaction checks, receipt compliance, and remediation tracking.
• Build dashboards and executive reporting on policy compliance, exceptions, and control performance.
• Partner with Finance, Tax, Payroll, Legal, Global Mobility, and other stakeholders to operate and automate the T&E program, including transaction reviews and Claude-based policy exception detection.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in travel and expense, corporate accounting, internal audit, or finance operations, preferably in a high-growth technology company.
• Hands-on SOX or internal-controls experience, including process narratives, control testing or operation, and external-auditor coordination.
• Strong accounting fundamentals covering GL coding, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close support.
• Experience with Navan or comparable travel-management platforms, Brex or equivalent expense tools, and ERP integrations; Workday experience is preferred.
• Experience with large transaction datasets, sampling, anomaly detection, multi-entity and multi-currency environments, cross-border tax considerations, and pre-IPO or newly public company readiness.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus CPA, CIA, or an equivalent certification; visa sponsorship is available for eligible roles and candidates.
