Automation Network Specialist (Python)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Build production-grade automation for network configuration, change management, and observability across multi-vendor enterprise networks.
• Develop network automation using Python, modern network APIs, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD practices.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews while mentoring junior engineers.
• Deliver reliable software that meets production standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
• At least five years of network automation experience and six or more years of overall experience.
• Strong Python development skills, including object-oriented programming, testing, and packaging.
• Deep networking knowledge covering routing, switching, and BGP.
• Hands-on experience with Netmiko, NAPALM, Nornir, or Scrapli; modern network APIs such as NETCONF, RESTCONF, or gNMI; and Ansible with Jinja2.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate. New H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Cisco DevNet or vendor automation certifications.
• Experience with Cisco, Arista, and Juniper multi-vendor networks.
• Familiarity with streaming telemetry, modern observability stacks, or cloud networking automation.
• Open-source contributions to network automation projects.
