Network Engineer

Location: Remote, with a preference for the Bethesda, Maryland office. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 base salary per year, plus bonus.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises, cloud, and hybrid networks.
• Support local and remote networks, VPN connections, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and related Linux systems.
• Maintain Amazon Web Services network components and contribute to cloud and on-premises networking projects.
• Use automation and open-source technologies to monitor infrastructure, improve processes, reduce total cost of ownership, and meet KPIs.
• Develop reusable solutions, maintain technical documentation, and deliver client-facing network projects.
• Monitor network environments, resolve incidents, maintain hardware and software, and protect sensitive ePHI and PHI.

Requirements

• US citizenship or permanent residency.
• Understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, routing protocols, IPsec VPN, NAT, and standard networking practices.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud networking and wireless network design and troubleshooting.
• Experience with at least one scripting language or configuration tool, such as Ansible, Bash, or Python.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with flexibility for after-hours incident escalation response.
