Customs Brokerage Specialist - S3 (Customs Brokerage)

What you will do

• Process customs entries, releases, holds, classifications, valuations, duties, and client fee determinations.
• Analyze shipment documentation and coordinate with carriers, clients, customs, the FDA, and other government agencies to secure timely releases.
• Resolve complex clearance issues, including marking notices, stratified exams, seizures, cancellations, deletes, and government-agency holds.
• Prepare freight-forwarding documents, bills of lading, delivery arrangements, billing sheets, and related shipment records.
• Review entry rejects, audit files, correct errors, resubmit entries, and maintain compliance with CBP and other agency requirements.
• Complete reconciliation activities and daily reports; when applicable, transport freight using a company truck under 26,000 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 12 months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience; two years of release, classification, or related experience is preferred within the stated qualifications.
• Working knowledge of HTS classification, tariff schedules, U.S. Customs regulations, import requirements, freight forwarding procedures, and billing records.
• MS Office, Outlook, and standard office equipment experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently with minimal supervision. When applicable, a valid vehicle license, DOT compliance, a physical examination, and age 21 or older are required.
